Tactalis Named Fast Growth Runner-Up at the 2014 TecEdmonton Venture Prize

Where can you find musical legends, tactile computers, robots built from iPads, 3D printers, futuristic wheelchairs, techies sporting Google Glass and piles of snoozing guide dogs all in one room?

At the Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference held in San Diego, California.

From March 17-23 Tactalis introduced the Origin Tactile Interface platform to approximately 4600 attendees at the 29th annual assistive technology event  started by California State University Northridge.

Blind Film Critic and Youtube Sensation Tommy Edison kicked off the conference with laughter and sincerity during a fantastic keynote that covered his successes and challenges as a film critic, radio personality, and representative of the blind community.

Tactalis Booth

One guest who surprised everyone when he arrived was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Legend Stevie Wonder.  Since the Tactalis booth was front and center in the trade show hall, Stevie didn't have to walk before he got a chance to test out our demonstration prototype and talk with the team.

Tactalis made quite a few fans by the end of the three-day exhibition including journalists from the Serotalk PodCast Network and BlindBargains Radio.

CSUN 2014 was an exhilarating experience for Team Tactalis and we're more excited than ever to take Origin to new heights. Our journey to bridge the digital divide for non-sighted users is just starting and we'll hope you'll join us as we race to get our incredible tactile technology into new hands!
